Pusha T has disclosed that he is no longer the President of G.O.O.D Music and that he is no longer dealing with Kanye West as a result of his recent viral hate speech and support for Hitler and the Nazis.
Pusha T first said “No, I’m not” when asked if he was still the president of G.O.O.D. Music before telling the magazine he had no connection to the company at all. However, Pusha T has a 50/50 agreement with Def Jam for his solo album and label, Heir Wave Music Group, even if the collaboration between G.O.O.D. Music and Def Jam expired in 2021.
In other words, It’s Almost Dry, Pusha T’s most recent album, is his final full-length release under G.O.O.D. Music and was chosen the greatest album of 2022 by Consequence. After Clipse took a break in 2010, the rapper joined with the label. He assumed the role of president of G.O.O.D. Music in 2015.
Pusha T publicly renounced Ye in a late November interview with the Los Angeles Times, calling his longtime friend and working partner’s series of antisemitic remarks “extremely disheartening.” The rapper said to XXL that he hasn’t spoken to Kanye since then and that it doesn’t appear like their friendship will be patched up any time soon.
Pusha T reported, “He’s not talking to me right now. “If you aren’t up, you aren’t with it. And I’m not on board. On that, I won’t budge. I disagree with it. On InfoWars, I learned about this fresh information. I’m not sure. It’s something that simultaneously sort of tells me he’s not feeling good.
I never carried a filter. I’ve always spoken my opinions. People must also remember. When it comes to disagreeing with him politically and other matters, this is nothing new for me.
Remember, I’m the one who declared the MAGA hat is the new Klu Klux Klan hood while he was recording my album, the speaker continued. He and [former President Barack] Obama are at odds. I met Obama. But the situation with him and Drake is the same. He’s doing gigs [with Drake] while I’m going through this and that.
The “Diet Coke” rapper remained steadfast in his dedication to his moral compass and individualism when questioned about the relationship and how it has evolved over time. He is aware that I shall carry out my obligations and desires. Regarding anything that puts my appearance, my pride, or anything else at risk. […] I’m too proud to beg someone to change their behaviour. I avoid doing it. But when I feel like something is not going my way, I’m going to react as Coo Coo Cal as I f**king want to.
Pusha T was not amused by the crazed discussion about the Donda artist’s infamous visit on Alex Jones’ InfoWars in the beginning of December. It’s more than that, and there’s no reason to tap dance around it. It’s untrue. Period. But to me, it’s simply me and him disagreeing once more because we’ve been doing this for years. The Grammy nominee said they are not currently in contact when asked if there will ever be a day when he feels the need to break connections.
He is no longer speaking to me. If you’re not with it, you’re not down, right? And I’m not on board. On that, I won’t budge. I disagree with it. On InfoWars, I learned about this fresh information. I’m not sure. It’s something that simultaneously sort of tells me he’s not feeling good. I’ll just say it. It is moving in directions where avoiding it is impossible.
In other parts of the conversation, Pusha T talked about his contentious feud with Drake in 2018 around the time he released Daytona and how every time the Six God sends him a subliminal, he knows it still hurts. The coke rapper also talked about how happy he was to be nominated for a Grammy and how unhappy he would be if It’s Almost Dry didn’t win Best Rap Album. Nevertheless, the rapper is already hard at work on his next album and mixtape.
