Patty Jenkins discloses her thoughts following the revelation that she and Warner Bros. have cut off their collaboration on a “Wonder Woman 1984” sequel.
Patty Jenkins stated in a message on Twitter, “I never left. “I was willing to take into account any request. I was under the impression that there was nothing I could do to make progress right now. I recognise that DC is now dealing with a lot of changes, so I can appreciate how challenging these choices are.
Patty Jenkins’ statement was released about a week after it was initially reported that Warner Bros. executives had rejected her treatment for a third “Wonder Woman” film. This news sparked a wave of speculative discussion about what it might mean for the future of DC.
It also generated stories claiming that Patty Jenkins had rejected attempts by newly recruited DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran to modify the movie to fit into their nascent ambitions. Patty Jenkins claimed in her response that the story is “just not true”: I’m not one to discuss personal professional matters, but I won’t stand by while errors persist.
After Jenkins posted her story on social media, Gunn defended her and said, “I can attest that all of Peter and my interactions with you were only nice and professional.” This was about an hour later.

Jenkins added that although she is still actively developing the “Star Wars” movie “Rogue Squadron,” she first abandoned the project when she realised that working on it would put off the release of a third “Wonder Woman” movie.
Patty Jenkins stated,
“When I did, Lucasfilm asked me to consider returning to [“Rogue Squadron”] after [“Wonder Woman 3′′], which I was honoured to do, so I accepted. “They struck a new agreement with me. In actuality, I’m still working on it, and since then, it has been actively developed. I’m not sure if it will occur or not. We never do until the development process is finished, but I am excited about the future possibilities.”
When “Rogue Squadron” was first announced by Lucasfilm and Jenkins in December 2020, it was planned to be the studio’s first “Star Wars” feature picture after 2019’s “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” and had a 2023 release date. Disney, however, formally dropped the movie from its lineup in September.
In contrast to the remainder of her statement, which reads as a farewell to the “Wonder Woman” series, Jenkins’ tone on “Rogue Squadron” is optimistic.
Patty Jenkins stated, “I do not want what has been a great experience with Wonder Woman to end on a terrible note. “It has been such a joy and an honour for me to have been a part of the production of these last two ‘Wonder Woman’ movies. She has a remarkable personality.
Patty Jenkins paid respect to actress Lynda Carter, who played the superhero on television in the late 1970s and made a cameo appearance in “Wonder Woman 1984,” as well as to her star, Gal Gadot: “Where do I even begin? The best present I’ve ever received during this entire trip is Gal. A beloved companion, model, and sister.

Some details of Patty Jenkins Statement:
1- When it became evident that it couldn’t happen quickly enough and that I didn’t want to prolong World War III any longer, I initially departed Rogue Squadron after a protracted and fruitful development process. When I did, Lucasfilm asked me if I would think about returning to RS after World War III. I was honoured to do so and consented. They forged a new agreement with me. In actuality, I’m still working on it, and since then, it has been actively developed. I’m not sure if it will occur or not. We never do until the development process is finished, but I’m excited about the future possibilities.
2- The enticing clickbait false story that it was I who killed it or went away started to spread when there was outrage about WW3 not happening. Simply said, this is untrue. I never left the room. I was willing to do anything that was requested of me. I was under the impression that there was nothing I could do to make progress right now. I recognise that these choices are challenging at this time since DC is undoubtedly overwhelmed by the adjustments they must undertake.
3- I don’t want my time with WW to end on a disappointing note after such a wonderful experience. It has been an absolute pleasure and an honour for me to have contributed to the last two Wonder Woman movies. She has a remarkable personality. One becomes a better person every day by adhering to her values. With or without me, I wish her and her legacy nothing but the best.
4- It has been exciting to walk beside Lynda Carter, a living legend and beacon of goodness and light. She has taught me so much, and I will always value her as a friend and mentor. My crew has treated me like family and has worked tirelessly to produce the finest movies they can for the globe. Gal Gadot is another. How do I even start? The best present I’ve ever received during this entire trip is Gal. a beloved companion, model, and sister. I am at a loss for words to describe how magical she is. She is a finer person than the world can conceive and the living embodiment of Wonder Woman. In all the countless hours I have spent with her, I have never once noticed anything less. She is a gift to this world, but more importantly, she is a gift to me.
5- Last but not least, I want to express my sincere gratitude to the amazing World War II fans for all of their love and support. I want you to know that even though Wonder Woman fans aren’t always the most visible in the media and online, we have always recognised and honoured you and your significance. Every day we worked on the last two movies, you were on our minds first and foremost. I am looking forward to continually celebrating you since you are the best and most loving individuals.
I want to thank everyone for this amazing adventure. Maintain your Wonder Woman attitude. When you are having a difficult day, try asking yourself, “What would Wonder Woman do?” I sincerely hope that she continues to be your beacon of love, truth, and justice, as she has been for me.
