In the brand-new music video for “Messy” from their joint album Only Built For Infinity Links, Quavo and Takeoff embark on a vacation with a horror theme.
On Monday, October 31, the group released the Quavo and Daps-directed music video just in time for Halloween. The image shows Quay and Take dozing off in a car before they both abruptly awake, perplexed by their dreams.
The film moves on to a house where the Atlanta, Georgia natives experience some unsettling moments as they explore different rooms and come upon a number of peculiarities.
When the album originally came out, “Messy” generated a lot of discussion because some assumed Quavo was talking about his split from Saweetie and there were allegations that she might have had an affair with someone in his group.
“I asked for Caresha since she was too messy. Bitch fucked my dog behind my back, but I wasn’t stressed. On the song “Messy,” Huncho rapped, “You shoulda just said it, we would’ve just blessed it / Now shit went messy.”
Although Quavo did not specifically identify anyone, many listeners assumed he was alluding to Offset, his cousin and rhyme partner, having an extramarital affair with Saweetie. They suggested this was the cause of the Migos’ abrupt breakup earlier this year.
Others thought Quavo was referring to Lil Baby, an Atlanta rapper who was allegedly involved with Saweetie last year.

The tunes “Stand On It” and “Not Finished” from the 4PF boss’s recently released album It’s Only Me appear to address the subject. Fans believed Baby was somehow connected to the nasty dispute between Quavo and Saweetie after hearing him spit a few verses. He raps on,
“Stand On It”: “I don’t want yo bitch, we can’t swap out (Swap out)/ They ain’t on shit, tell ’em to pop out (Pop out).”
Then, on “Not Finished,” Lil Baby appears to make reference to the photograph of the Icy Girl reportedly sitting on his lap while they were out shopping in New York, which sparked speculations that they were seeing each other last year. In the song, Baby raps,
“She post a picture without my permission/ Got me in some shit, man, these women is wild,”
Quavo and Takeoff may be managing their careers as a duo at the meantime, but they are ready to reunite with Offset as the Migos if one thing is certain.
On a recent edition of Drink Champs, Quavo asked the podcast’s hosts who, excluding OGs, they thought could compete against him and Takeoff in a Verzuz match-up. Instead of making a choice, N.O.R.E. enquired as to the likelihood of a special one-night-only Migos Verzuz reunion for the fans.
And we can’t get the Migos back together for one Verzuz? No? N.O.R.E. merely said, “If the check right,” to the question “That’s not going to happen,” before Takeoff.
