Mariska Magdolna Hargitay is an American actress, director, and philanthropist.
Fans of Law & Order: SVU were upset last week when Kelli Giddish announced her departure from the show after 12 seasons, but they weren’t the only ones. Mariska Hargitay mirrored their emotions as she posted a tearful farewell to her longtime co-star and dear friend on Instagram.
Mariska Harigitay offered a touching message in a new photo ahead of Kelli’s final episode to remember the pair’s experience on the NBC series. She talked openly about how much she had liked working with her to tell gripping stories for television. But the leading lady didn’t hold back while discussing how bittersweet the occasion was as well.
On December 8, she posted on Instagram,
Mariska referenced their respective characters, Olivia Benson and Amanda Rollins, and added the hashtag “#RolliviaForever” to underline her anguish even further.
Fans of Law & Order: SVU were moved to tears when they saw Mariska pay tribute to her longtime buddy on social media. Many people started leaving comments right once to share their ideas.
I’ve been watching the episode for 30 minutes and I’m still sobbing uncontrollably, “One individual wrote.
Mariska might have stopped at her sincere message, but she decided to go further. Kelli posted a picture of their characters hugging each other shortly after her final appearance in the Law and Order universe. She wrote in the image captions, “I’m hanging on to this one by a thread. I adore you, kgid.”
As everyone is aware, Kelli’s character received a dignified send-off. In addition to assisting Olivia in overcoming her affections for Stabler (Christopher Meloni), Rollins eloped with Sonny Carisi while also accepting a post as a professor of forensic psychology at a local university (Peter Scanavino).
Despite Kelli’s unanticipated exit, Mariska and she will undoubtedly remain close even after the procedural drama ends. Who knows, perhaps when the show resumes on January 5 we’ll hear an update on Rollins’ condition.
