Selection Process:
The selection process for the Golden Globe Awards is done by the HFPA, which is made up of journalists and photographers who cover the entertainment industry. The organization has around 90 members from 55 countries who vote on the nominees and winners.
Nominees are announced in December, and the winners are announced at the Golden Globe Awards ceremony, which is held in January. The ceremony is typically held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California and is attended by many of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
Final Note:
It’s worth noting that Golden Globe Awards are different from other awards as they are given out by a non-profit organization, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which consists of roughly 90 international journalists and photographers, and as such the criteria and perception of what is considered good or worthy for a Golden Globe is different from other major award ceremonies like Academy Awards or Emmy’s.
In Los Angeles, the 80th Golden Globe Awards were presented on Tuesday.
