France and Argentina will compete in the 2022 World Cup Final on Sunday

When France and Argentina meet in the World Cup final on Sunday, all eyes will be on Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi, two of soccer’s most well-known players who have played together for two seasons on Paris Saint-Germain Football Club, France’s top club.

At Lusail Stadium in Qatar, the match starts at 10 a.m. ET.

The World Cup-winning French national team, which Mbappé, 23, will represent on Sunday, won the competition in Russia in 2018.

Messi, 35, who has spent the majority of his lengthy career playing in Europe, will take the field for the South American rival. The sixth World Cup for Messi. Despite being widely regarded as the finest player right now and maybe the greatest player ever, he has never won the World Cup.

Sunday saw Paris Saint-Germain post on Twitter, “Final day for our two Parisians.” “You have our admiration,”

The four top attackers and goal scorers from this year’s World Cup final will square off in what the French team described as a “face-to-face” game on Sunday morning.

Olivier Giroud of France and Julián lvarez of Argentina both had four goals, while Mbappé and Messi have each scored five so far.

With a victory on Sunday World Cup final, France would join a select group of teams that have won back-to-back World Cups, a feat last done by Brazil in 1958 and 1962. Four years ago, Mbappé was a member of the winning squad.

Since defeating West Germany in Mexico in 1986 and bringing home the World Cup trophy, Argentina hasn’t won the competition. Messi led the squad to the Brazil finals in 2014, but Germany prevailed.

In October, Messi declared that the World Cup in Qatar will be his last.

Whoever wins in World Cup final, it will be a historic victory. Either Les Bleus win two consecutive championships something that has only ever been done twice or Lionel Messi receives his long-awaited coronation, a year after Diego Maradona passed away. On Sunday, there will be at least 22 players possibly more on the field due to the possibility of five replacements. Two groups are motivated to make history and conclude the World Cup final in a blaze of glory. With a third star on their shirt and the trophy, only one of them will return (the two nations are tied, with two titles each). The Lusail stadium will serve as the final resting place for the other’s dashed hopes.
