Drake and 21 Savage, two well-known American rappers, made news on November 3 when they finally released their collaborative album “Her Loss” after a week’s delay. Because Drake’s producer Noah Shebib tested positive for COVID-19 while he was mixing the collaborative album, the record’s original release date of Friday, October 28, was pushed back to Thursday.
The lone featured artist on the album is Travis Scott, who appears on “Pussy & Millions.” Highlights from the album include “Circo Loco,” which samples the legendary song “One More Time” by Daft Punk, and “Spin Bout U,” which finds Drake in a vulnerable state once more.
On October 22, “Her Loss” was formally unveiled in the music video for “Jimmy Cooks,” the last track from Drake’s summer album “Honestly, Nevermind,” which he collaborated on with 21 Savage. With only six hours till its release, the club-focused song received little to no marketing. His groundbreaking “Certified Lover Boy” album from 2021 likewise debuted without any forewarning; its release date was revealed through ESPN advertisements the week before, right after rapper Kanye West’s “Donda” dropped.
Drake and 21 Savage continued their unique strategy with “Her Loss,” publishing humorous fake press and interview films that began with a mock Vogue cover and 21 savage acting in his own GQ “What’s in My Bag” video, which included items like tea packets and a copy of the children’s book “Charlotte’s Web.” While Drake initially announced that copies of the Vogue magazine featuring their cover would be available for purchase earlier this week, a team of handlers distributed copies to fans on Monday. The copies featured photoshopped images of the two rappers superimposed over the most recent print issue of the Anna Wintour-led magazine.

More recently, phoney video recordings of the couple appearing on “The Howard Stern Show” and NPR’s “Tiny Desk” emerged online. Let’s do it for real tho, the official NPR Music Twitter account wrote, confirming the teaser trailer was a fake. They also posted a news piece on their official website to make it obvious they were open to the concept. Short chats regarding a variety of subjects were featured in fake “The Howard Stern Show” clips, including Drake’s preferences for watching porn and his views on marriage, while other films discuss 21’s British heritage. When the latter was arrested by ICE in February 2019 for exceeding his visa’s validity, his country of birth was unexpectedly made public to a large portion of the world.
Upon closer inspection of the videos, it becomes even more evident that Stern’s remarks were spliced together from the decades’ worth of broadcast audio used to create the two rappers’ staged appearances.
Drake and 21 Savage Make Statement About Their Degree:
Drake and 21 Savage appear to be making a meta-statement about their degree of celebrity in relation to typical press stops that most artists typically make during traditional album releases with their spate of faux press engagements. Drake has tended to avoid interviews with media outlets and magazine covers in recent years. His most recent appearance on a two-hour Rap Radar interview was in late 2019. First-week album sales pending, the satirical visits by both musicians show fans how little they need to do to make these stops in order to release a successful record.

Tracklist of Drake and 21 Savage Joint Album ‘Her Loss’:
The 16-track LP was released by Drake’s OVO and 21 Savage’s Slaughter Gang Entertainment labels, with both artists serving as executive producers. The Toronto rapper revealed the album’s cover art late on Wednesday night. It contains a photograph of model Qui Yasuka, popularly known as Suki Baby, taken by Paris Aden.
Since 2017, the two musicians have released a steady stream of joint projects, beginning with the free single “Sneakin’.” Drake collaborated with producer Metro Boomin to perform on Savage’s 2020 album on the song “Mr. Right Now” before returning the favour in 2021 on “Certified Lover Boy” with the song “Knife Talk.” Due to its typical rap style on a song that is primarily club-influenced, Drake’s “Jimmy Cooks,” their most recent collaboration, is considered as a standout from the album “Honestly, Nevermind.”
