In an exciting penalty shootout, Argentina defeated France in the World Cup final match on Sunday.
Two of soccer’s most well-known players, Kylian Mbappé of France and Lionel Messi of Argentina, have played together for Paris Saint-Germain Football Club for two seasons. Both players did not dissapoint. Messi scored two goals, and Mbappé scored three. Both stars scored on their respective penalty kicks.

The result of extra time was a 3-3 tie. The shootout was won by Argentina 4-2.
Mbappé, 23, participated in Sunday’s game for France, the defending World Cup champions who took first place in Russia in 2018.

Messi, 35, who has spent the majority of his illustrious career playing in Europe, entered the field for the South American rival. The sixth World Cup for Messi. Despite being widely regarded as the finest player right now and maybe the greatest player ever, he has never won the World Cup.

Olivier Giroud of France and Julián lvarez of Argentina both had four goals, while Mbappé and Messi have each scored five so far.
With a victory on Sunday, France would join a select group of teams that have won back-to-back World Cups, a feat last done by Brazil in 1958 and 1962. Four years ago, Mbappé was a member of the winning squad.
Since defeating West Germany in Mexico in 1986 and bringing home the World Cup trophy, Argentina hasn’t won the competition. Messi led the squad to the Brazil finals in 2014, but Germany prevailed.
